Kiertokromatografiassa
Kiertokromatografia, often referred to as circular chromatography or simply "kierto," is a chromatographic technique where the mobile phase flows in a circular path. This differs from conventional linear chromatography where the mobile phase moves from one end of the stationary phase to the other. In kiertokromatografia, the stationary phase is typically packed into a disk or a ring, and the mobile phase is introduced at the center and allowed to migrate radially outwards or inwards, depending on the specific design. As the mobile phase moves through the stationary phase, components of the sample separate based on their differential interactions with both the stationary and mobile phases.
The circular nature of the flow can offer several advantages. It can allow for longer separation paths
