Kierrätyspolttoaineeseen
Kierrätyspolttoaineeseen, often translated as Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), refers to a combustible product produced from waste materials that are not suitable for recycling by traditional methods. The primary goal of RDF production is to recover energy from waste that would otherwise be landfilled. The process typically involves shredding, sorting, and drying mixed solid waste to remove non-combustible components like metals, glass, and inert materials. The remaining organic fraction is then processed into a fuel with a consistent calorific value, suitable for use in industrial processes like cement kilns, power plants, or specialized energy recovery facilities.
The composition of RDF can vary depending on the source waste and the processing methods employed. Common
