Ketalexi is a fictional plant species from the speculative biology setting of "Alien Biosphere". It is a terrestrial organism found in the humid, low-light environments of the planet Xylos. Ketalexi are characterized by their large, fleshy leaves, which are a deep indigo color. These leaves are adapted to capture the limited sunlight that penetrates the dense canopy of Xylos.

The plant reproduces through spores, which are released from specialized structures on the underside of its leaves. These spores are carried by air currents and are capable of germinating in damp soil. Ketalexi primarily derive nutrients from the decaying organic matter in their environment, functioning as decomposers. They also possess a rudimentary form of chemosynthesis, supplementing their energy intake by processing certain minerals present in the soil.

While not actively predatory, ketalexi can exude a mild, sticky sap from their leaves that can trap small invertebrates. These trapped organisms are then slowly broken down and absorbed, providing additional nutrients. The plant itself has no known symbiotic relationships with other species but is a food source for certain herbivorous Xylosian fauna. Its presence is an indicator of healthy, undisturbed forest floor ecosystems within the Alien Biosphere setting.
