Ketjukuljetin

Ketjukuljetin, or a chain conveyor, is a mechanical system used to move materials or products along a predefined path using a chain as the primary carrier. The system typically consists of a driven chain that runs on sprockets within a trough or on a support surface, to which carriers, pallets, slats, or flights are attached. It can handle unit loads as well as bulk materials, depending on its design.

In operation, a motor and drive train turn the chain, which pulls along the attached load or carries flights that push or scoop material forward. The conveying path is defined by guides and tracks, which can be arranged horizontally, inclined, or curved. For unit loads, carriers or pallets are mounted directly on the chain; for bulk materials, flights attached to the chain move the material through a trough or channel.

Ketjukuljetin covers several variants. Plate-chain and roller-chain conveyors are commonly used for unit loads and provide steady support for heavy items. Drag-chain conveyors use chains with flights to move bulk materials, such as grains or aggregates, through a trough. The systems may be open or enclosed, and can be designed for sanitary, corrosive, or high-temperature environments, depending on materials and construction.

Applications span many industries, including manufacturing, food processing, automotive, mining, and bulk material handling. Advantages include high load capacity, robustness in harsh or dirty environments, and suitability for continuous operation. Limitations can include higher maintenance needs, lubrication requirements, wear on chains and sprockets, and larger footprints compared with some alternative conveyors. Safety measures typically involve guarding, emergency stops, and proper tensioning and alignment of components.
