Kenttäkäämi

Kenttäkäämi is a Finnish term that translates to "field coil" in English. It refers to an electromagnet used in various electrical devices to generate a magnetic field. This field can be used for a multitude of purposes, such as attracting or repelling other magnetic materials, inducing currents in nearby conductors, or providing a force for mechanical actuation.

Field coils are typically constructed by winding insulated wire around a core, often made of a ferromagnetic material like iron.
