Keménységmérések refers to hardness testing, a crucial aspect of materials science and engineering used to determine a material's resistance to deformation, scratching, or indentation. This property is vital for selecting appropriate materials for specific applications and for quality control during manufacturing.

There are several common methods for measuring hardness, each with its own principles and applications. The Brinell hardness test uses a hardened steel or tungsten carbide ball that is pressed into the material surface with a specific load. The diameter of the resulting indentation is then measured. The Rockwell hardness test employs a diamond cone or steel ball indenter under specific loads, and hardness is determined by the depth of the indentation. Vickers hardness testing, also known as the diamond pyramid hardness test, uses a square-based diamond pyramid indenter. The test measures the diagonal lengths of the indentation left by the indenter. Shore hardness testing is commonly used for polymers and elastomers, utilizing a pointed or rounded indenter pushed into the material by a spring.
