Keeleoskusi

Keeleoskusi is a term used in Estonian-language contexts to denote language skills or language proficiency. The word is formed from keel (language) and oskus (skill); the standard Estonian nouns are keeleoskus (language skill) and keeleoskused (language skills). Keeleoskusi covers the range of competences needed to understand and use a language, including listening, reading, speaking, and writing, as well as related elements such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and pragmatic language use.

Usage and contexts: In education and public policy, keeleoskusi is used to describe a person’s functional language ability. It is commonly assessed against international reference frameworks such as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), but local rubrics and school curricula also apply.
