Katodestrålerøret
Katodestrålerøret, often abbreviated as KTR, is a vacuum tube used to display visual information. It consists of a cathode that emits electrons, which are then accelerated and focused by an electron gun. These electrons are directed towards a phosphorescent screen at the front of the tube. When the electrons strike the screen, they cause the phosphor to emit light, creating an image. The electron beam is scanned across the screen rapidly by deflection coils, either magnetically or electrostatically controlled, to create a full picture. This scanning process is known as raster scanning.
KTRs were the standard display technology for televisions and computer monitors for many decades. The technology
Despite their historical significance, KTRs have largely been replaced by newer display technologies such as LCD
