Kasvosi is a fictional city-state in a fantasy setting created for encyclopedic reference. It sits on the western coast and commands a natural harbor that connects inland crafts with maritime trade. The city is renowned for its glassmaking, mask culture, and guild-based governance, which together shape its distinctive social and economic life.

The name Kasvosi derives from the ancient Kasvo language, meaning “face” or “countenance.” This etymology reflects the city’s long tradition of mask-making, portrait-inspired artistry, and the symbolic role of faces in its ceremonial life.

Kasvosi traces its origins to the ninth century, when glassmakers and shipwrights established a settlement at the delta. It grew into a regional trading hub during the Middle Ages, weathered sieges, and in the early modern era formed a semi-autonomous federation under a council of guilds. Independence and local autonomy were reaffirmed through coastal conflicts and successive treaties.
