Kaserot

Kaserot is a small community settlement located in the central district of Israel, roughly fifteen kilometres southwest of Tel Aviv and situated within the municipal jurisdiction of the Central Committee. The settlement was established in 1970 as part of the national initiative to expand agricultural and residential areas in the central coastal plain. Its founders were primarily families from the nearby kibbutzim who desired a more traditional village lifestyle while remaining close to urban centers.

The population of Kaserot has gradually increased over the past four decades, reaching approximately 1,500 residents as of 2022. The demographic composition is predominantly Jewish, with a mix of families from both secular and religious backgrounds. The community operates a local elementary school, a community centre, and several small businesses, including a cooperative dairy farm and a retail grocery store. Agricultural activity in the area remains modest, focusing mainly on fruit orchards and vegetable cultivation that serve local markets.

Kaserot is represented by an elected village council, which oversees public services such as infrastructure maintenance, communal pool and recreation facilities, and educational programs. The settlement is well connected to the larger towns of Ginegar and Netanya via regional road networks, facilitating commuter access for residents working in the nearby cities.

The name "Kaserot" derives from the Hebrew word for "rods" or "sticks," reflecting the area's original agricultural heritage. Over the years, the community has developed a reputation for its commitment to environmental stewardship, with initiatives such as solar-powered public buildings and a community garden that promotes sustainable practices. Despite its small size, Kaserot continues to be an integral part of the central Israel region, balancing rural character with accessibility to metropolitan amenities.
