Karbonaatsed

Karbonaatsed (also known as carbonated beverages) are drinks that contain carbon dioxide gas dissolved under pressure. This process, known as carbonation, gives the beverage a fizzy or effervescent quality. Carbonated drinks are widely consumed worldwide and come in various forms, including soft drinks, sparkling water, and some alcoholic beverages.

The carbonation process typically involves injecting carbon dioxide into the liquid under high pressure. When the pressure is released, the gas forms tiny bubbles that create the characteristic fizz. This method was first developed in the late 18th century by Joseph Priestley, who discovered a way to infuse water with carbon dioxide using a primitive apparatus. Later, in 1772, he produced the first carbonated water commercially.

Sparkling water, which is essentially carbonated water with added minerals, is another popular variant. The popularity of carbonated beverages stems from their refreshing taste and effervescent texture, which can enhance the flavor experience. However, excessive consumption may lead to health concerns, such as tooth decay, obesity, or metabolic issues due to high sugar or artificial additive content.
