Kapillaariväsymystä is a Finnish term that translates to capillary fatigue or capillary exhaustion. It refers to a condition where the capillaries, the smallest blood vessels in the body, are unable to adequately supply oxygen and nutrients to the surrounding tissues, or to remove waste products efficiently. This can occur due to various factors, including prolonged or intense physical exertion, poor circulation, inflammation, or certain medical conditions.

When capillaries become fatigued, tissues may not receive sufficient blood flow, leading to a lack of oxygen and nutrients. This can manifest as symptoms such as muscle weakness, cramping, reduced endurance, and a sensation of heaviness or burning in the affected area.
