Kandovan
Kandovan is a village located in the Sahand mountains in the East Azerbaijan Province of Iran. Its most striking feature is its unique architecture, where houses are carved directly into cone-shaped, naturally formed rock formations. These structures, known as "karan," are believed to have been created by volcanic ash deposits from ancient eruptions of the Sahand volcano, which have since eroded into the distinctive shapes seen today.
