Kalvokytkimiä

Kalvokytkimiä are a type of pressure-sensitive switch that utilizes a flexible diaphragm as a key component. These switches operate by detecting changes in pressure, which in turn cause the diaphragm to deform. This deformation is then mechanically linked to an electrical contact, either opening or closing a circuit.

The construction of a kalvokytkin typically involves a sealed housing containing the diaphragm and the electrical contacts. When pressure is applied to one side of the diaphragm, it flexes. If the pressure exceeds a certain threshold, the diaphragm will move enough to actuate the switch mechanism. Conversely, when the pressure drops below a set point, the diaphragm returns to its original position, and the switch reverts to its default state.

Kalvokytkimiä are employed in a variety of applications where pressure monitoring and control are necessary. They can be found in automotive systems, industrial machinery, medical equipment, and home appliances. For instance, they might be used to detect low oil pressure in an engine, regulate fluid levels in a tank, or signal when a certain pressure is reached in a pneumatic system. Their simplicity, reliability, and relatively low cost make them a popular choice for many pressure-sensing tasks. The specific pressure setpoint at which a kalvokytkin activates can often be adjusted, allowing for customization to different operational requirements.
