Középfékkel

Középfékkel is a Hungarian term that translates to "with middle brake" or "using the middle brake." It most commonly refers to a specific type of braking system used on bicycles, particularly on older or more basic models. In this configuration, a caliper brake is positioned centrally above the front wheel, with brake arms extending outwards to grip the tire. This design contrasts with other common bicycle brake types like cantilever brakes, V-brakes, or disc brakes.

The primary characteristic of a középfékkel system is its placement. The central mounting point allows for a relatively simple and cost-effective design. However, these brakes are generally less powerful and offer less modulation than more modern braking systems.
