Käännynnäppäimet

Käännynnäppäimet, sometimes translated as "toggle keys" or "sticky keys" in English, are a feature in computer operating systems that assist users with motor impairments or those who find it difficult to press multiple keys simultaneously. This accessibility function modifies the behavior of modifier keys such as Shift, Control, and Alt. Instead of requiring a simultaneous press and hold of these keys with another key, käännynnäppäimet allow the user to press the modifier key, release it, and then press the second key, with the modifier key remaining active until it is pressed again.

This functionality is particularly beneficial for tasks that involve keyboard shortcuts, such as copying and pasting text or navigating menus. Without käännynnäppäimet, a user might struggle to press Ctrl and C at the exact same time. With the feature enabled, they could press Ctrl, release it, and then press C. The operating system would then interpret this sequence as a combined Ctrl+C command.
