Jäähdytyspaneeli

Jäähdytyspaneeli, often translated as cooling panel or chilled panel, is a technology used for thermal comfort in buildings and other environments. It works by circulating a cool liquid, typically water or a water-glycol mixture, through a network of pipes embedded within a panel. These panels are often installed in ceilings, walls, or sometimes floors.

The primary principle of operation is radiant cooling. The cool surface of the panel absorbs heat from the surrounding environment, including people and objects, through radiation. This process is highly efficient and can provide a more even and comfortable cooling sensation compared to traditional forced-air systems. Unlike air conditioners that cool the air directly, which can lead to drafts and temperature fluctuations, cooling panels directly cool surfaces, reducing the overall heat load in the space.

Jäähdytyspaneelit are considered an energy-efficient alternative for cooling. By utilizing chilled water, they can operate with higher system temperatures than conventional air conditioning, reducing the energy required for chilling.
