Jätevoimaan

Jätevoimaan, often translated as waste-to-energy, refers to a set of technologies that produce energy in the form of electricity or heat from the treatment of waste. This process involves burning non-recyclable waste materials at high temperatures in specialized facilities. The heat generated from this combustion is then used to produce steam, which drives turbines connected to generators to produce electricity. Alternatively, the heat can be used directly for district heating systems.

The primary goal of jätevoimaan is to reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills while simultaneously generating a usable energy source. This approach can contribute to energy security and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
