Järelliitest

Järelliitest is a term used in Estonian to describe a final or post-test conducted at the end of a course, project, or development cycle to assess outcomes or conformity with specified objectives. The concept appears in multiple fields, including education, software development, research, and manufacturing, where a defined set of criteria determines whether the process can be considered complete.

In education, järelliitest often serves as a summative assessment that contributes to the final grade. It typically covers material from the entire period, and may take the form of an exam, a practical task, a written assignment, or a portfolio review. Reliability and validity are prioritized by aligning tasks with learning objectives and using transparent scoring rubrics.

In software and product development, järelliitest refers to a final validation or acceptance testing phase conducted before release. It aims to verify that all requirements are met, that the system functions under expected conditions, and that risks are mitigated. Outcomes are usually pass/fail with formal sign-off by stakeholders or a customer.

Process and criteria: A järelliitest is usually planned with a test plan, defined test cases, acceptance criteria, and a controlled test environment. Results are documented, any defects are tracked, and remediation steps, retesting, or documentation updates are required before closure.
