Jänneteoria

Jänneteoria, also known as string theory, is a theoretical framework in physics that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity. It proposes that the fundamental constituents of the universe are not point-like particles but rather one-dimensional vibrating strings. These strings, at incredibly small scales, are thought to be the building blocks of all matter and energy.

The different vibrational modes of these strings correspond to different types of fundamental particles. For example, one vibrational pattern might manifest as an electron, while another could be a photon. The theory requires the existence of extra spatial dimensions beyond the familiar three, typically ten or eleven in total, which are thought to be curled up and unobservable at our macroscopic scale.

String theory has several versions, with M-theory being a proposed unifying framework for these different string theories. A significant prediction of string theory is the existence of supersymmetry, a symmetry that relates bosons and fermions. While string theory has not yet been experimentally verified, it offers a potential path towards a unified theory of everything, explaining all fundamental forces and particles within a single consistent framework. Its mathematical elegance and ability to address some of the most profound questions in physics continue to drive research in this area.
