Juhtploki

Juhtploki is a mechanical device used in rope and cable systems to guide and support a moving line along a defined path. It typically consists of a housing that holds one or more pulleys (sheaves) and a mounting interface for attachment to structure or equipment. The term combines juht, meaning guide or conductor, with plokk, meaning block.

Construction and function

A juhtplokk centers on a pulley or set of pulleys mounted within a rigid frame. The pulleys rotate on bearings to minimize friction as the cable or rope passes over them. The housing provides alignment, protection from debris, and points for attachment. Many designs include lubrication provisions, a locking or brake option, and multiple attachment points for easy integration into a larger rigging or hoisting system.

Configurations and types

Juhtplokid can be fixed, mounted in a stationary position to guide a cable along a fixed path, or movable, attached to a load or trolley to create a pulley block assembly. They may have a single sheave or multiple sheaves to change the direction of force and increase mechanical advantage when used with tackle systems.

Applications

Used across industries, juhtplokid appear in stage rigging, construction cranes, elevators, mining equipment, and industrial automation. They help direct cables, reduce wear on lines, and enable controlled movement of loads.
