Joulumyynti is the Finnish term for Christmas sale, a period during which retailers offer price reductions and promotions in the lead-up to the Christmas holiday. The term is composed of joul (Christmas) and myynti (sale). In Finland, joulumyynti typically runs from late November through December, with peak shopping days in the weeks immediately before Christmas. For online and physical stores, promotions may include discount campaigns, bundles, free gifts, loyalty rewards, and enhanced gift-wrapping services. Some stores also extend sales into January with post-Christmas or New Year promotions.

The practice is widespread across consumer sectors such as clothing, toys, electronics, home decor, cosmetics, and groceries. Consumers often plan purchases for Christmas gifts and seasonal supplies, while retailers use joulumyynti to manage inventory before the quieter January period.
