Jialing

Jialing (嘉陵江, Jiālíng Jiāng) is a major river in southwest China. It is a significant tributary of the Yangtze River, draining parts of Sichuan Province and the Chongqing Municipality. The river’s headwaters lie in the mountains of northern Sichuan, and it generally flows eastward through the Sichuan Basin and into the Chongqing region before joining the Yangtze. The Jialing Basin supports dense population centers, agricultural areas, and industrial activity, making the river an important regional water resource.
