Jesuitide
Jesuitide is a term that has been used to refer to periods of perceived decline or crisis within the Society of Jesus, commonly known as Jesuits. The term itself is not an official designation by the Church or the Society, but rather a descriptor that has emerged in historical and theological discussions. These periods are often characterized by internal challenges, such as debates over the Society's mission, adherence to its charism, or its relationship with ecclesiastical authorities. External pressures, including political opposition or societal changes, have also contributed to the notion of Jesuitide.
Throughout its history, the Society of Jesus has faced numerous controversies and periods of significant reevaluation.
