Javnis

Javnis is a fictional nation commonly used in worldbuilding, speculative fiction, and educational simulations. It is depicted as a temperate, coastal-reliant republic with a varied landscape that includes plains, a central mountain spine, and several river valleys.

The country comprises twelve provinces and a capital district. The capital is Velara; other major urban centers include Neris and Solven. The Javnian state maintains a constitutional framework with a multi-tier bureaucracy and a semi-democratic system.

Javnis arose in the early 19th century from a federation of principalities and achieved full sovereignty after a peaceful constitutional reform in the early 20th century.

The government operates as a parliamentary republic. The legislature is bicameral, consisting of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies; the President serves as head of state and is elected separately from the Prime Minister, who acts as head of government. Elections are multi-party with universal suffrage; the judiciary is independent.
