Jalgtees
Jalgtees, also known as jalgazi or jalgazi tee, is a traditional garment worn by men in the Indian subcontinent, particularly in South Asia. The term "jalgazi" is derived from the Hindi words "jal" meaning water, and "gazi" meaning a type of cloth. The garment is typically made from cotton or linen and is characterized by its loose-fitting design, which allows for ease of movement. Jalgtees are often worn as a casual undergarment or as a part of traditional attire, such as the kurta-pajama or sherwani. They are usually paired with a kurta, a long tunic shirt, and are often dyed in vibrant colors. The garment is known for its comfort and simplicity, reflecting the cultural emphasis on practicality and modesty. Jalgtees are also worn by women, particularly in rural areas, and are often paired with a sari or salwar kameez. The garment's design and style have evolved over time, but it remains an essential part of traditional South Asian clothing.
