Jalasta is a fictional city-state commonly used in worldbuilding and speculative fiction. It is depicted as a coastal polity on the Jalasta Archipelago in a warm marine climate, often placed in the southern part of its fictional region.

The archipelago comprises seven inhabited islands connected by bridges and ferries, with coral reefs, mangrove forests, and limestone shores. The economy centers on fisheries, coastal trade, and tourism, with development framed by marine conservation initiatives.

Historically, Jalasta developed as a thriving maritime trading hub, attracting diverse communities and cultures. In many narratives, it gains constitutional autonomy in the early modern period and integrates traditional seafaring practices with a merchant class and civic institutions.
