Jakelustrategian, or distribution strategy, is the plan a company uses to move products or services from production to the end customer. It defines where, how, and through whom products are made available, and it aims to optimize reach, cost, and service levels. The core elements are channel design (choosing direct sales, wholesalers, retailers, or hybrids; determining channel length and structure), market coverage (intensive, selective, or exclusive distribution depending on product type, geography, and brand positioning), and channel management (partner selection, contracts, performance monitoring, conflict resolution, and incentives). Logistics and operations (warehousing, transportation, inventory management, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics) link the channel to execution. Digital distribution and omnichannel considerations have grown in importance, combining online direct-to-consumer platforms with third-party marketplaces and physical locations to provide consistent customer experiences.

The strategy also covers pricing, margins, and terms negotiated with channel partners, as well as risk and compliance issues in domestic and international markets. Evaluation focuses on metrics such as reach and market coverage, service levels, cost per unit, inventory turnover, delivery times, and channel profitability, with ongoing adjustments to address channel conflicts or underperforming partners.

Historically, distribution strategies evolved from simple direct sales to complex networks, influenced by retail development, transportation advances, and digital commerce. Today, many firms pursue hybrid models that integrate multiple channels to optimize accessibility, speed, and customer experience while managing channel conflicts and data-driven decision making.
