Jagajaga

Jagajaga is a traditional Indonesian dish originating from the Central Java region, particularly popular in cities like Yogyakarta and Surakarta. The name "jagajaga" comes from the Javanese words jaga (meaning "to guard" or "to protect") and jaga (also meaning "to guard"), though it is more commonly believed to derive from the word jagajaga, which refers to the dish's main ingredient, the jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus). The dish is known for its sweet and savory flavors, combining elements of both Indonesian and Indian culinary traditions.

Jagajaga is typically prepared using a mixture of jackfruit, coconut milk, and a blend of spices such as turmeric, coriander, cumin, and sometimes chili.
