Jännitejakutaulut

Jännitejakutaulut, often translated as voltage divider circuits, are fundamental electronic circuits designed to produce an output voltage that is a fraction of the input voltage. They are typically constructed using two or more resistors connected in series across a voltage source. The output voltage is then taken across one of these resistors. The ratio of the output voltage to the input voltage is determined by the ratio of the resistance values in the circuit.

The simplest form of a jännitejakutaulu uses two resistors, R1 and R2, connected in series to a voltage source Vin. If the output voltage Vout is taken across R2, then the relationship is given by the formula Vout = Vin * (R2 / (R1 + R2)). This formula illustrates that the output voltage will always be less than or equal to the input voltage. The choice of resistor values allows for precise control over the output voltage.

Jännitejakutaulut have numerous applications in electronics. They are commonly used to reduce a higher voltage to a lower voltage that is suitable for other components, such as microcontrollers or sensors. They can also be employed to set reference voltages or to create adjustable voltage outputs when one of the resistors is replaced by a variable resistor, like a potentiometer. While simple, their design and implementation require careful consideration of factors such as power dissipation and load impedance, as connecting a load to the output can alter the voltage division ratio.
