Ivóvíztisztítás

Ivóvíztisztítás refers to the processes used to make water safe and suitable for drinking. This is a crucial aspect of public health and environmental protection, ensuring that water sources are free from harmful contaminants. The treatment process typically begins with the collection of raw water from sources like rivers, lakes, or groundwater.

Initial steps often involve screening to remove large debris such as leaves and twigs. Coagulation and flocculation are then employed, where chemicals are added to clump together smaller suspended particles. These clumps, called flocs, become heavier and settle out of the water. Sedimentation tanks allow these flocs to settle to the bottom, leaving clearer water.

Filtration is a key stage that removes remaining suspended solids. Various filter materials, such as sand, gravel, and charcoal, are used to physically trap impurities. Disinfection is the final critical step to kill any remaining disease-causing microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. Common disinfection methods include chlorination, ozonation, or ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Depending on the raw water quality and intended use, additional treatments like softening, aeration, or activated carbon filtration may be implemented to remove specific contaminants or improve taste and odor.
