Istutustööd

Istutustööd refers to the general term for planting activities, commonly associated with landscaping and gardening in Estonia. These tasks involve placing plants, such as trees, shrubs, flowers, and sometimes even grass seeds or sod, into the ground. The primary goal of istutustööd is to establish new vegetation for aesthetic, ecological, or functional purposes. This can range from large-scale public park developments and roadside greening projects to smaller private garden designs and balcony planting.

The process typically begins with site preparation, which may include clearing existing vegetation, amending soil with compost or other nutrients, and ensuring proper drainage. The selection of plants is crucial and depends on factors like climate, soil type, light availability, and desired outcome. Following selection, plants are carefully removed from their containers or growing medium and placed in prepared holes, ensuring their root systems are adequately covered with soil and watered thoroughly.
