Ismiliyya
Ismiliyya is a city located in the Nile Delta region of Egypt. It is situated on the western bank of the Suez Canal, approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles) northeast of Cairo. The city serves as a major administrative and industrial center for the Ismaïlia Governorate. Ismiliyya's strategic location has made it historically significant, particularly in relation to the Suez Canal's operation and management.
The city was founded in 1863 by Khedive Ismail Pasha during the construction of the Suez Canal.
Economically, Ismiliyya relies heavily on its proximity to the Suez Canal, which facilitates trade and transport.
