IronPigs

The IronPigs, officially the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, are a professional baseball team based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. They compete in Minor League Baseball as the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies and play in the International League, one of the higher levels of the minor leagues. The franchise was established in 2008 as part of Major League Baseball’s expansion of the minors and quickly became known for its distinctive branding and strong regional support.

The name IronPigs reflects the Lehigh Valley’s historical role in the iron and steel industries, with “pig iron” being a term associated with the metal production process. The team plays its home games at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, a ballpark designed to host AAA baseball and family-friendly events. Coca-Cola Park has become a recognizable venue in the region, featuring promotions and facilities designed to attract local fans.

In terms of competition, the IronPigs have operated as the Philadelphia Phillies’ top minor league affiliate since their inception.
