Invensys
Invensys was a global technology, software, and consulting company that specialized in industrial automation and operational performance improvement. Founded in 1997 through the merger of BTR plc and Siebe plc, the company aimed to provide solutions for businesses to optimize their production processes, enhance safety, and increase efficiency. Invensys operated in several key sectors, including oil and gas, power generation, manufacturing, and water treatment. Its product portfolio included software for enterprise resource planning, process automation systems, and industrial control systems. The company was headquartered in London, UK, and had a significant international presence with operations and customers worldwide. In 2013, Invensys was acquired by Schneider Electric, a French multinational corporation, for approximately $5.2 billion. Following the acquisition, Invensys's operations and technologies were integrated into Schneider Electric's existing business units, particularly within their Industry segment. The Invensys brand was gradually phased out as its solutions became part of Schneider Electric's offering.
