Internetivõrgud

Internetivõrgud, often translated as "internet networks" or "interconnected networks," refers to the fundamental structure that enables global communication. At its core, it is a vast, interconnected system of computer networks that spans the entire globe. These networks are composed of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope, linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies. The internet operates on a standardized suite of protocols, most notably the Internet Protocol suite (TCP/IP), which governs how data is packetized, addressed, transmitted, routed, and received.

The architecture of the internet is decentralized and distributed, meaning there is no single point of control or failure. Instead, data travels through a complex web of routers and servers, finding the most efficient path to its destination. This decentralized nature contributes to its resilience and scalability. Different types of networks form the internet, including local area networks (LANs) within organizations or homes, and wide area networks (WANs) that connect these LANs over larger geographical areas. The internet is not a physical entity but rather a conceptual framework built upon physical infrastructure like cables, satellites, and data centers. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the exchange of information and resources between connected devices worldwide, supporting a multitude of applications and services.
