Internetinfrastruktuuria refers to the fundamental physical and organizational structures that enable the operation and accessibility of the internet. This encompasses a wide range of components, both tangible and intangible, that work together to facilitate the global exchange of data. At its core, internetinfrastruktuuria includes the vast network of cables, both terrestrial and submarine, that transmit data across continents and under oceans. These are complemented by data centers, which house the servers and storage systems where websites, applications, and vast amounts of information reside.

Network hardware plays a crucial role, including routers and switches that direct internet traffic efficiently, ensuring data packets reach their intended destinations. Wireless technologies, such as cellular towers and Wi-Fi hotspots, extend internet access to mobile devices and areas where physical cables are impractical.
