Interkalaarisilla

Interkalaarisilla is a Finnish-language form derived from the adjective interkalaarinen, meaning intercalary or intercalated. In scientific usage the term describes materials, compounds or sites that contain layers or molecular structures into which foreign atoms, ions or molecules have been inserted without fundamentally disrupting the host lattice.
