Interferentsimustrid

Interferentsimustrid is a term in theoretical physics and speculative literature for a hypothetical construct in which three coherent pathways contribute to an interference pattern that cannot be reduced to pairwise two-path interference. The name blends interference, simulation or mimicry, and triad. It is not part of standard theory but appears in thought experiments on higher-order coherence.

In a three-path interferometer, the output depends on the three phase differences and can show nonfactorizable correlations among paths. Under idealizations, the three-path term cannot be written as a sum of two-path terms.

Measurement would require stable phase control for all three paths and detectors with high dynamic range. Phase-shifting techniques and triple-path interference measurements would be used to extract the three-path contribution.

Applications are mainly speculative: exploring coherence limits, potential information-carrying capacity, or robust signaling in multi-path systems. It is often used in discussions of quantum simulations and complex wave phenomena.

Limitations: no experimental consensus or clear demonstration; models assume lossless, perfectly coherent sources and are sensitive to noise.
