Integritetskränkning

Integritetskränkning refers to an act that violates a person's integrity. In a legal context, this often pertains to violations of privacy, but the concept is broader and can encompass actions that demean, disrespect, or cause emotional distress to an individual.

In Swedish law, the term is particularly relevant in discussions concerning personal data protection and the right to privacy. It can involve unauthorized access to, or disclosure of, personal information, as well as actions that infringe upon an individual's personal space or autonomy.

Beyond the strictly legal, integritetskränkning can describe any behavior that disregards another person's dignity and sense of self-worth. This might include harassment, public humiliation, or intrusive questioning. The severity of such an act is often judged by its impact on the individual, considering factors like the nature of the act, its duration, and the context in which it occurred. The perceived intent of the perpetrator can also be a consideration, though the focus is often on the effect on the victim.
