Integrationsprojekt is a project designed to create seamless cooperation between previously separate components, such as software systems, data sources, business processes, or organizational units. In IT, it aims to connect applications, databases, and infrastructure to enable unified operations, better data quality, and a coherent user experience. In organizational settings, it can involve aligning processes, roles, and governance after changes such as mergers, reorganizations, or strategic realignments.

Typical lifecycle steps include initiation, requirements analysis, architectural design, implementation, testing, deployment, and stabilization. Common techniques are API-based integration, middleware and service-oriented architectures, data integration via ETL or data replication, data mapping, and event-driven or batch workflows. Security, data privacy, scalability, and governance are integrated throughout the project.

Key stakeholders are IT teams, business units, external vendors, data owners, and end users. Challenges include complexity, data quality issues, incompatible systems, performance constraints, and change resistance. Success depends on a clear target architecture, executive sponsorship, phased delivery, thorough testing, and effective communication.
