Instrumentaaliset

Instrumentaaliset is a Finnish adjective in plural form, typically used to describe things that are instrumental in nature or related to instruments. In everyday Finnish usage it commonly modifies nouns such as kappaleet (pieces) or äänitykset (recordings), for example instrumentaaliset kappaleet to refer to instrumental music tracks that lack vocals.

The term appears in at least two principal domains. In music and audio production, instrumentaaliset denotes works performed by instruments only, or arrangements emphasizing instrumental parts. In linguistics, instrumentaaliset can describe phenomena connected to the instrumental grammatical category—forms or functions that express the means or tool by which an action is carried out.
