Institutionalisierten is the past participle form of the verb institutionalisieren and is used as an adjective in German to describe practices, norms, or structures that have been formalized and integrated into institutions. The process, called Institutionalisierung, involves organizing social life, politics, or organizational activity through formal rules, procedures, and bodies.

In scholarly usage, institutionalisierten refers to norms, practices, or arrangements that have become stable and routinized within legal, administrative, educational, or organizational frameworks. Examples include the institutionalisierten Normen within a bureaucracy, the institutionalisierten Systeme der Bildung, or the institutionalisierten Maßnahmen in welfare policies. The concept is central to disciplines such as sociology, organizational theory, political science, and criminology, where researchers analyze how informal practices become standardized and how institutions legitimize certain ways of acting.
