Infrapunalämmitteet

Infrapunalämmitteet, or infrared heaters, are devices that generate heat by emitting infrared radiation. This radiation is a form of electromagnetic energy that directly heats objects and people it strikes, rather than heating the air around them. This is in contrast to convection heaters, which warm the air first. The spectrum of infrared radiation used in heating typically falls within the near, mid, and far-infrared ranges.

The technology behind infrared heating is based on the principle that all objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit infrared radiation. These heaters use a heating element, often a resistant wire or tube, which is heated electrically. As the element heats up, it emits infrared waves. These waves travel in straight lines and are absorbed by surfaces they encounter, causing those surfaces to warm up.

They are common in residential and commercial spaces for supplemental heating, outdoor patio heaters, and in industrial settings for drying, curing, and process heating.
