Infograafikuid is a term used to describe a form of data visualization and motion design that fuses infographic storytelling with visuals inspired by fluid dynamics. In this approach, data is represented not only by bars, lines, or charts but also through evolving, liquid-like shapes whose movements respond to the underlying values. The result is a visualization that emphasizes process, flow, and interaction, with information emerging as the liquid shifts, diffuses, or merges.

It emerged in design and media circles in the 2010s as practitioners explored more expressive ways to convey dynamic data. While not a formal standard, infograafikuid is used to describe projects that combine data-driven mapping with fluid simulations, shader-based rendering, and motion graphics techniques.

Core characteristics include morphing, translucent shapes; mapping data to properties such as viscosity, density, or speed; and the use of layering to show multiple variables. Techniques often involve particle systems, WebGL or GPU-based rendering, and data-to-visual mappings that drive fluid properties in real time or through scripted sequences. Color, light, and transparency are used to convey value and density without losing legibility.

Applications span science communication, climate and environmental dashboards, urban-data storytelling, and media productions seeking a tactile, accessible aesthetic. Infograafikuid is frequently employed in interactive formats where users can influence the flow or pause to inspect details.

Designers note that readability and accessibility must be balanced with visual appeal. Because the form can be resource-intensive and may risk obscuring precise numbers, clear annotations and alternative text are important. As an emergent concept, it lacks formal standards, which can lead to inconsistent interpretation across projects.
