Inflectionless

Inflectionless refers to speech or a voice that lacks natural variations in pitch, tone, and rhythm. This means the speaker's voice remains relatively flat and monotonous, without the typical ups and downs that convey emotion, emphasis, or meaning. It can sometimes be associated with certain medical conditions or neurological differences. In linguistics, it describes a word or grammatical form that does not change its ending to indicate grammatical function, such as number, tense, or case. This is in contrast to inflected languages, where words commonly change their form. For example, in English, "cat" is inflectionless in its singular form, but "cats" is inflected for plural. However, some languages have very few or no inflected forms for certain word classes. The term can also be used more generally to describe something that is unvarying or unchanging.
