Inductionsealed

Inductionsealed is a term used to describe products or packaging that have been sealed by an induction-sealing process. Induction sealing uses a heat-sealable liner formed from aluminum foil laminated to a polymer, placed under a closure. When the cap is tightened onto a container, an induction sealer generates a localized magnetic field at the cap, causing the polymer layer to melt and form a tight, hermetic, and tamper-evident seal to the container mouth. The result is a moisture and air barrier that helps preserve product quality and provides tamper evidence.

Materials and construction commonly involve a liner with an aluminum foil layer bonded to a heat-sealable polymer, often with an adhesive layer. Polymers may include EVA, polyolefins, or other laminates chosen to suit the product, container neck finish, and regulatory requirements. The foil thickness and polymer composition are selected to balance seal strength, peel force, and compatibility with the filling process.

Process and equipment: Induction sealing requires a closed container, a cap containing the liner, and a sealing machine with a coil arranged to energize only the cap region. Parameters such as frequency, power, and dwell time are adjusted to ensure a complete seal without damaging contents or requiring excessive torque.

Applications and benefits: Inductionsealed packaging is common in pharmaceuticals, vitamins and supplements, foods and beverages, cosmetics, and household chemicals. Benefits include tamper evidence, leak resistance, improved shelf life, and supply-chain integrity.
