Incircuitmätningar

Incircuitmätningar, often translated as in-circuit measurements, refers to the process of testing electronic components and circuits while they are still powered and integrated into a larger system. This contrasts with off-circuit testing, where components are removed and tested individually. The primary goal of incircuitmätningar is to verify the functionality of components and their interconnections within the assembled board.

This testing method is particularly prevalent during the manufacturing and assembly of printed circuit boards (PCBs). It allows for the detection of manufacturing defects such as solder bridges, open circuits, incorrect component placement, and faulty components. Specialized equipment, known as in-circuit testers (ICTs), is commonly used for this purpose. These testers employ a bed-of-nails fixture that makes electrical contact with specific test points on the PCB.

The ICT then applies various test signals and measures the responses to determine if each component and connection behaves as expected. This can involve measuring resistance, capacitance, inductance, and detecting the presence or absence of signals. Incircuitmätningar are efficient for identifying manufacturing flaws early in the production process, preventing defective boards from proceeding to further stages or reaching the end user. However, it's important to note that incircuitmätningar primarily focus on manufacturing defects and may not always detect design flaws or functional errors that only manifest under specific operating conditions.
