Importside
Importside is a term used in some economic analyses to denote the subset of external-sector activity associated with imports. It is not a standard label in mainstream macroeconomics, and its exact meaning varies by author, but it generally refers to import demand, the entry of goods and services, and the price and policy factors that shape import flows within an economy. The term is often contrasted with the export side or with measures of domestic production.
In practice, importside variables can include import demand as a function of income and prices, import prices
Data for the importside are drawn from national accounts, customs, and price indices, including imports valued
Limitations: The term is informal and definitions differ across studies; some researchers prefer more standard terminology
