Ilmalämmityksen

Ilmalämmitys, also known as forced-air heating, is a common heating system that distributes heated air throughout a building via a network of ducts and vents. The system typically consists of a furnace or heat pump, a blower fan, a thermostat, and ductwork. The furnace or heat pump heats the air, and the blower fan then pushes this heated air through the supply ducts to various rooms. Cooler air from the building is drawn back to the furnace or heat pump through return ducts to be reheated, creating a continuous cycle.

The thermostat controls the system by monitoring the room temperature and signaling the furnace or heat pump to turn on or off as needed to maintain the desired temperature. Ilmalämmitys systems are known for their ability to quickly heat a space and can also be integrated with air conditioning and ventilation systems, allowing for a single set of ducts to provide both heating and cooling.

While efficient and versatile, ilmalämmitys systems require regular maintenance, including filter changes and duct cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and air quality. The initial installation cost can be significant, especially for new constructions or if extensive ductwork is required. Compared to other heating methods like radiant heating, ilmalämmitys may lead to greater air stratification, with warmer air rising to the ceiling.
